BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- Bakersfield police will be checking for impairment and proper licensing on Saturday night.
On June 7, a DUI and driver's license checkpoint will be held in Bakersfield between the hours of 6:30 p.m. and 2 a.m.
Officials say well-publicized and routine DUI checkpoints reduce the chances of a crash involving an impaired driver.
Officers will be looking for signs of impairment and will check drivers for licensing.
The checkpoint will be held at an undisclosed location in Bakersfield, where DUI arrests are frequent, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.
