ROCKFORD (WREX) — If you have a damaged U.S. flag that you need to replace, a local partnership is offering a way to dispose of the worn flag properly.

The Winnebago County Clerk's Office will be partnering with Veterans Memorial Hall again to collect damaged flags for proper retirement over National Flag Week.

The Clerk's office and the museum will be accepting worn and dilapidated flags to be retired properly from Monday, June 9, to Friday, June 13. Anyone dropping off a flag at either location can get a free 8" x 12" USA Stick flag while supplies last.
