STEVENS POINT - It has been 41 years since Almond-Bancroft softball has had the opportunity to appear in the WIAA state softball tournament. But after downing Three Lakes/Phelps 5-0 in the sectional final on June 5, the Eagles are finally state-bound.
“We finally got all the way home,” Almond-Bancroft softball coach Randy Yonke said. “These girls have put a lot of time and effort into the season playing 12 months a year, and it shows. It's great for the community. We have a great fan base that really showed out yesterday, and I know we're going to have a great group down in Madison.”
