AUSTIN, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department reported that the Texas Game Wardens made multiple arrests and conducted multiple rescues over the Memorial Day Weekend.

According to officials, the TGW checked 10,897 vessels, issued 1,374 citations, issued 1,951 warnings, filed 53 "boating while intoxicated charges," filed seven "Driving while intoxicated charges," and made 21 other arrests.

Officials said this year saw the highest number of charges filed for boating while intoxicated in the past five years.
