LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Louisville Metro Department of Corrections celebrated its newest class of graduated peace officers.
The recruits completed 13 weeks of training to join LMDC, and said they’ve dreamt of this day and the achievement it means.
“Ever since I was younger, I wanted to join law enforcement,” said new LMDC officer Maliyah Houser. “I have family members that were incarcerated, and I know they weren’t treated well, so I just wanted to be the difference and help out everybody as much as I can.”
LMDC welcomed and swore in a total of six recruits.
