OLD TOWN -- The Old Town Fire and Police Departments are going head to head in a softball battle to benefit local furry friends.
The two departments will compete on Sunday , June 29, in the first ever Furball Festival hosted by the Old Town Animal Orphanage.
The orphanage is celebrating 35 years in business and is hoping to raise funds for animals' medical expenses by inviting the community to place their bets on the game's winning team.
"People can go on our website and vote for which team they think is gonna win. By just donating $10 to whichever team they think is going to win that, and then whoever wins gets a trophy and bragging rights until next year," explained Britany Ellis, PR Specialist at the orphanage.
