DULUTH — After spending a year serving as interim executive vice chancellor and provost at the University of Minnesota Duluth, the college announced Friday that Rebecca Ropers has been selected to fill the role permanently.

“I am honored to serve as UMD’s executive vice chancellor and provost,” said Ropers in a news release. “In the past year, I have witnessed the commitment of faculty, staff, students and community members who have invested in our transformational work.”

As provost and executive vice chancellor, Ropers serves as the chief academic officer for the campus and senior adviser to the chancellor. A member of the university’s senior leadership, she oversees the Office of Academic Affairs.
