STONE COUNTY, Ark. (KY3) -Grant Hardin, the former Arkansas police chief who escaped a Calico Rock, Ark., prison on May 25, has been captured, according to the Stone County, Ark., Sheriff’s Office.

According to a Stone County, Ark., Sheriff’s Office Facebook post , escaped inmate Grant Hardin was apprehended at 3:45 p.m. Friday, June 6.

The search for formerly escaped prisoner Hardin had entered its 12th day on Friday.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hardin was taken into custody by Izard County authorities just a short distance from the North Central Unit in Calico Rock.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office says Harden was captured approximately 1.5 miles west of the prison grounds by law enforcement officials.
