SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. — The Sumter County Sheriff's Office says a man accused of holding someone at gunpoint and threatening to shoot them has been found in Georgia.

The sheriff's office said that around 11 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a disturbance on Green View Parkway where a suspect, later identified as Nikolas Steven Kirchner-Prola, had allegedly pointed a gun at people and threatened to shoot them. Investigators said he also held one person at gunpoint and threatened to shoot them if someone else didn't retrieve another person from inside the home.

However, authorities said he fled to his vehicle when someone came out of the home who was also armed. He escaped as another person called 911.
