KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Hundreds of children received free dental screenings Friday at Covenant Health Park.

Renaissance Insurance partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of the Tennessee Valley and Lincoln Memorial University to promote oral health and community engagement.

It was part of Renaissance Dental Day and organizers said they wanted to show that going to the dentist does not have to be scary.

"What we are trying to do by coming to the ball park is show that dental can be fun, but also eliminate barriers and we are doing it by bringing these kids in for an exciting day, but also to get their teeth checked out," David Bemberton, marketing director at Renaissance Insurance, said.
