SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — The United Way of Sandusky County is distributing over $377,000 in grant funding to local nonprofits and community programs this year, supporting a wide range of services including homeless shelters, advocacy programs and community outreach efforts.

The annual investment is made possible through United Way’s community giving campaign, which raises between $650,000 and $750,000 each year, entirely from local donations. The nonprofit does not receive any government funding, relying solely on the generosity of Sandusky County residents.

"We do an annual drive to raise money, so we don't get any government funding," said Jill Simpson, CEO and president of United Way of Sandusky County. "It really is local support that supports this organization."
