BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - Bismarck Judge David Reich retired on May 6.
Friends, family and coworkers held a retirement party for him on Friday afternoon.
Judge Reich was first elected to the bench by Senator John Hoeven in 2006. He served as Secretary Treasurer for 14 years, and people who worked with him say he left an undeniable impression on the local court system.
“I’ve got a lot of things I want to do. I’ve got a lot of people I want to thank. I know when I started, Judge Wefald said, ‘This will be the best job you’ll ever have,’ and I think he was probably right,” Reich said.
Reich plans on spending more time with his wife and daughter in his retirement and finally getting around to some house projects he’s been wanting to do. He said his favorite cases were adoptions.
