Escaped murderer and rapist Grant Hardin was captured by authorities Friday after a days-long manhunt, authorities announced.
Hardin, 56, was captured “approximately 1.5 miles north-northwest” of the North Central Unit in Calico Rock, according to the Izard County Sheriff’s Department, where he escaped on May 26 using a makeshift correctional employee uniform .
Hardin has a background in law enforcement and briefly served as chief of police for Gateway (Benton County). His escape and the subsequent manhunt received national attention.
