INDIANAPOLIS — President Donald Trump's travel ban prohibiting people from 12 countries from visiting the United States will go into effect on Monday, June 9.
It's the second travel ban from the Trump administration after the president issued a similar ban during his first term in office.
Congressman André Carson (D-Indiana) spoke out against the first ban in 2017 and is doing the same with the second one.
In a social media post this week, Carson said the new travel ban isn't about national security, he said it's about bigotry.
"Who is most impacted by mass deportation? Black and brown people. Who is most impacted by travel bans? Black and brown people. It's also targeting a majority of Muslim countries," Carson told 13News.
