ALLEGAN COUNTY, MI - Three potential exposures sites have been named in connection to a case of the measles discovered in Allegan County.

The county health department confirmed the case of the highly contagious disease on Friday, June 6. According to a news release, the local agency was working with the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to investigate the case in a push to prevent others from popping up.

The measles virus can remain infectious in the air for up to two hours after an infected individual leaves an area, and health authorities said people who were present at the following locations may have been exposed:

Coachmen Strength & Conditioning, 7780 Clyde Park Ave. SW, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. on Monday, June 2, in Byron Center
