Dr. Cory Wilson, who has served as Keller ISD’s interim superintendent since January, was named the only finalist in the district’s superintendent search during a special meeting June 5.

The details

According to a district news release, a state-mandated 21-day waiting period now follows before Wilson can be officially hired to the position. At that time, the board is expected to officially name him the superintendent.

Before being named interim superintendent, Wilson served the district for more than 20 years, most recently as assistant superintendent of education services.

He was named interim superintendent during a contentious board meeting Jan. 30 after weeks of controversy in the community regarding a possible plan to split the district.
