HOWELL COUNTY, Mo. — A Mountain View man faces several felonies after his attempt to purchase a firearm as a felon opened up the discovery of a past shooting incident.

According to court dockets, Justin Kimbell, born 1984, faces felony charges of first-degree assault or attempt; shooting a firearm at or from a motor vehicle or person as a prior offender; unlawful possession of a firearm; driving while intoxicated — persistent; and armed criminal action.

The probable cause statement says Howell County deputies were dispatched to two separate residences in the Hutton Valley area on June 3 regarding calls involving a convicted felon, Kimbell, who claimed to have bought a firearm from somebody.
