A two-vehicle crash on State Road 19 near Roseland on June 5, 2025, resulted in one driver being transported to the hospital and another arrested for driving under the influence. At approximately 5:39 p.m., a 2015 Chevy Equinox, driven by 64-year-old Dixie Athy of Elkhart, collided with a 2002 GMC truck, driven by 67-year-old John Gustafson of Three Rivers, Michigan. Athy, traveling westbound, failed to yield the right of way while exiting a driveway and struck Gustafson’s northbound vehicle. Athy suffered a head injury and was taken to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment. A search warrant for her blood was obtained, and she was arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
