Sources are telling 21 News that the longtime UPS hub where packages are sorted for delivery in Boardman will close as the company consolidates its operations across the US.

An employee at the UPS hub off Market Street and a union official confirmed that the Boardman hub will close on August 23.

Teamster Local 377 Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Officer Ralph Cook told 21 News that the approximately 65 employees who work at the facility will be offered jobs at other facilities, but more information is expected to be given to employees in about a week.

Cook said that employees were informed on Friday of the closing.
