BELOIT, Wis. (WKOW) -- Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) held a roundtable discussion in Beloit on Friday to hear people's concerns about potential cuts to Medicaid as President Trump's "Big, Beautiful Bill" moves through the Senate.
Health workers and Medicaid recipients were at the discussion and voiced their fears of the health resource being cut.
People like Yazmin Martinez rely on Medicaid to survive. Her husband and three children are also Medicaid recipients and use it to help cover costs for doctor appointments.
“If we were to have those bills without the Medicaid, it would be hard to get through," Martinez said. “My son, my oldest, he gets bullied in school, he goes to therapy here in this clinic. That also helps cover his bills as well."
