MILFORD, Mass. —

The Milford High School student released Thursday after spending six days in ICE custody is now facing security concerns after his releases, according to a family spokesperson.

The family spokesperson said Marcelo Gomes de Silva, 18, is in great spirits but is unlikely to return to school to complete his junior year due to the concerns.

Gomes da Silva and his parents are now working with an immigration attorney to explore options for citizenship.

"There is a plan for him. There is a plan for his parents, and they are completely cooperative and want the chance to do this in a systematic way," said family spokeswoman Coleen Greco.
