CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - The Guardians have placed catcher Austin Hedges on the Concussion Injured List, keeping him out for a minimum of seven days.

The veteran was hit in the back of the head on Wednesday night in New York on a backswing from Jazz Chisholm in the 9th inning.

“He was experiencing some low level concussion symptoms yesterday, and those haven’t gone away,” Stephen Vogt said before Friday’s game against Houston.

This is Hedges fifth trip in his career to the Concussion Injured List.

Dom Nunez was hailed from Columbus to take his place on the roster. Andrew Walters was transferred to the 60-day DL to make room for Nunez on the 40-man roster.
