LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — A review board has determined that the actions of two officers involved in a deadly shooting in May were within Lafayette Police Department policy.
The shooting on May 1 began as an argument between a Lafayette woman and her husband, during which the woman expressed that she did not feel safe leaving her apartment with her children.
When officers arrived at the scene, the woman informed them that there were guns in the house.
The suspect, Kenneth Smith, died after an officer returned fire during the incident. The department on Friday afternoon posted details, including audio and bodycam video, on its YouTube page.
