The Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners revoked the license of Reno doctor Samuel Chacon on June 6.
The decision was expected after both sides agreed to a settlement before it was presented to the board for final approval.
Chacon's license was revoked for five years after a hearing officer found he was guilty of malpractice in how he cared for a 26-year-old patient pregnant with twins. Chacon continued to treat Patient A, a high-risk pregnant woman, even though he did not have hospital privileges to deliver babies.
The settlement also came amid five other investigations the board was conducting alleging he performed unnecessary procedures and surgeries on women.
