ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford resident Juan Arce Jr., 35, on Friday was ordered to serve 18 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections for a 2021 DUI crash that claimed the lives of 38-year-old Jerrisha Goodwin and her 14-year-old daughter, Allani Henry, on Rockford’s west side.
As part of a negotiated plea deal, Arce pleaded guilty and received 18 years for aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol, causing two deaths, and 12 years for aggravated DUI causing great bodily harm. The prison terms will be served concurrently at 85%.
The sentence was delivered one day before Allani Henry would have graduated from East High School.
