BLACKMAN TOWNSHIP, MI – A 22-year-old Jackson man has been arrested in connection to an early morning shooting on Wednesday .

Police were originally called shortly before 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, to a home in the 100 block of Peacock Walk in Blackman Township for a reported shooting when a 16-year-old boy was found breathing but unresponsive.

Suffering from a gunshot wound to the head, the youth was later taken to Henry Ford Jackson Hospital in critical condition.

According to a news release on Friday, the Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety identified a possible suspect but were initially unable to locate him following the initial incident. Detectives learned of the individual’s whereabouts and conducted surveillance during the investigation.
