EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Ground has been broken for a new El Paso County Sheriff’s Office substation.

The new facility will be in Falcon, right next door to the Falcon Fire Station at Stapleton and Meridian Ranch.

The sheriff’s office said growth in the Pikes Peak region has been extensive, and they believe the project will enhance public safety services and meet the elevated demands. They said the county has had a 35 percent increase in population over the past two decades.

The new substation was approved unanimously by the El Paso County Board of County Commissioners last April.

Construction on the substation is scheduled to be complete in the Fall of 2026.
