NEW HAVEN, Conn. —

The decades old debate over Connecticut pizza reached a new level this week.

Connecticut, the self-proclaimed "Pizza Capital of the United States" wanted to silence its nay-sayers with a bit of trolling.

That included placing billboards in the heart of New York advertising that Connecticut pizza is better than New York pizza. In both states, the friendly argument goes back and forth.

“Connecticut has a different style. I like it. I like clam pie. But, if I’m talking about a classic type of cheese pizza, I need that greasy, oily New York stuff,”  said Grace Fary, who is visiting Connecticut from New Orleans.
