CLEVELAND (WJW) — It was supposed to be a fresh start.
Back in 2019, Danielle Jackson packed up her life in Cleveland and headed for a new chapter in Georgia. But just days before the move, heartbreak struck when her dog Queenie slipped away and disappeared.
“Panic set in because I originally got her from a recommendation from my therapist,” Danielle said. “So losing her was devastating.”
She delayed the movers, walked every block and stayed an extra week hoping for a miracle, but Queenie never turned up. Eventually, the move had to happen. The search had to end, despite how hard Danielle says it was to drive away.
For six years, Danielle heard nothing, but last week Cleveland Animal Control got a call about a stray dog. Animal control officer Jenna Halaska responded.
