OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - For the eighth year, Creighton University hosted its annual Abilities Camp on Friday, welcoming children with special needs across three locations: D.J. Sokol Arena, the McDermott Center and the Ruth Scott Center.
About 100 children ages 6 to 13 participated in the event, which was led by Bluejay men’s and women’s basketball players and coaches, along with Creighton physical therapy students.
The camp held personal significance for two Creighton players — sophomore guard Ty Davis and senior guard Josh Dix, a transfer from Iowa — who each had a family member in attendance. Dix’s brother and Davis’ cousin took part in the activities.
