SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Friday morning, the Woodbury County Emergency Management Agency held a joint safety training event at Siouxland Christian School.

Woodbury County Emergency Management Agency conducted “Operation Blue Eagle,” an active shooter training drill for first responders.

The training saw over a dozen agencies working together and learning how to navigate a situation they hope never happens.

“What we attempted to do today is empower our first responders,” said Mike Montino with Woodbury County Emergency Management. ”[To] give them the knowledge, the tools and, most importantly, with exercises, the experience to be able to handle an incident like this. ”
