TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Donna Adelson was transferred from the Leon County Detention Facility to the Wakulla Detention Facility Friday afternoon, according to court records.

Adelson’s defense attorney, Josh Zelman, said the transfer is because of a new LCSO policy regarding inmates’ access to tablets. He said that the policy would have greatly limited Adelson’s ability to communicate with her legal team before next week’s change of venue and her upcoming trial .

“This was the most expeditious way we could ensure that our communications with Donna would not be impeded by the Sheriff’s Department’s new policy, ” Zelman said.

WCTV has also reached out to State Attorney Jack Campbell and lead prosecutor Georgia Cappleman for comment on the jail transfer.
