ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A Mill Creek High School graduate is being praised for his hard work.
Mykale Baker reported for his shift at a local Burger King a few hours after graduating from Mill Creek High School.
A customer took a video of Baker appearing for the shift, still wearing his graduation medals.
The customer, Maria Mendoza, was so impressed by Baker’s work ethic and joyfulness that she started an online fundraiser for him. It aimed to raise $60,000, but has since blown past that, raising more than $200,000.
Baker says he always watched people on YouTube receive cool surprises, but he never thought it would happen to him. He said he had planned to take a gap year but now, with the donations, he might go straight to college.
