CHICAGO (WTVO) — The federal government claims 2,400 people were taken into custody during ICE operations, including some in Illinois.
At least 10 people at an immigrant supervision center in Chicago were arrested by agents who were wearing masks.
ICE claims everyone arrested had failed to comply with a final order of removal.
Immigrants received a text message telling them to appear for a check-in earlier this week.
Pritzker described the arrests as "certainly inappropriate" when asked about them.
"There were bystanders protesting, but not interfering," said Pritzker. "Yet, those ICE officers were pushing people out of the way, in a fashion that I don't think any of us thinks is right."
