VALLEY CITY, N.D. — Voters in Valley City will soon decide the future of education in their community, as school leaders push for a $46 million plan to replace the century-old high school with a modern facility.
At 106 years old, Valley City High School is among the oldest in the state. Educators say it’s no longer suited to meet the demands of 21st century learning.
“He is walking the same halls as his great grandpa, which is something we can be proud of, but it's also time to update and time to change,” said Sarah Lerud, the school librarian and president of the Valley City Education Association.
