LAKE COUNTY — While Lake County was preparing for former Prosecutor Gregory Mick to go on medical leave, they were startled when he turned in his resignation letter late Thursday night.

He had only been in office six months before this.

After he joined office, the Lake County Sheriff said they had high hopes.

Sheriff Rich Martin tells us “He won last year’s election, and basically took office, just like I did at the first of the year. And, we were, positive, you know, hoping to move in the right direction. We had some struggles with our last prosecutor, and, we were hoping with a new prosecutor it would, put us in the right direction.And, we were hoping that, that was going to happen, but unfortunately, now that, looks like it’s not going to happen.”
