BOARDMAN TWP., Ohio - UPS has confirmed to 21 News that it plans to close its longtime hub where packages are sorted for delivery in Boardman as the company consolidates its operations across the US.

A UPS representative confirmed plans to close the Karago Avenue facility off Market Street on August 22.

Teamster Local 377 Secretary-Treasurer/Principal Officer Ralph Cook told 21 News that the approximately 65 employees who work at the facility will be offered jobs at other facilities, but more information is expected to be given to employees in about a week.

Cook said that employees were informed on Friday of the closing.
