OMAHA, Neb. —
Congressman Don Bacon was busy on Capitol Hill this week, but before returning to Nebraska for the weekend, he discussed developments in D.C. and abroad.
The top of his priorities is the U.S. military's spending and a recent report discussing Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth's move to pull money from barracks and dormitories to put toward the US-Mexico border.
"This year, we added about $1 billion to help start working, to get our dorms and barracks caught up into the standards that we expect for our sons and daughters that serve. And to hear that the Secretary of Defense siphoned off this billion dollars and put towards the border, if it is true, it's unacceptable," Bacon said.
