Close to 1,200 nurses from across Canada gathered in Niagara Falls Friday shouted in unison they’re “ready to fight” to ensure their patients continue to have access to public health care services they provide.
Nurses from nine provinces participated in the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions biennial conference this week, wrapping the event up with the public demonstration to draw attention to privatization of Canada’s health-care.
Gesturing to the nearby mist of the Horseshoe Falls, and the United States beyond, CFNU president Linda Silas told the crowd: “As much as we love our neighbours to the south, we want to make sure we never get to the same situation with our health-care system.”
