In August 2021, the Vanden High School Class of 2025 gathered at George A. Gammon field for freshman orientation.

It was the first time since seventh grade that the class of 428 students returned to an in-person learning environment – a major adjustment, and just one of the many hurdles the class faced on its path to graduation.

Senior class president Tiara Jenna Domingo reflected on the journey with a simple question: “Why us?”

“The world chose us to throw constant adversities, and that’s because the world knows we can handle it,” Jenna Domingo said. “Despite change after change we were hit with, we still got up, dusted off and we thrived.”

On Friday, the Vikings returned to the very same field they walked into four years ago and walked out with diplomas in hand.
