It might be hot, but today’s not the day to take a dip off Jack Hyde Beach on Tacoma’s Ruston Way.
Water samples taken Wednesday indicate high levels of bacteria in the water that can cause gastrointestinal illness, according to an advisory issued by the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department on Friday .
Jack Hyde Park is at 2201 Ruston Way in Tacoma’s Old Town.
“We posted advisory signs and will continue to monitor bacteria levels there,” a health department release said. “When bacteria levels no longer show increased risks to public health, we will remove the signs.”
