Small hail and a severe thunderstorm warning and a funnel cloud have punctuated another cloudy day in the Pikes Peak region Friday.

The National Weather Service issued a 15-minute severe thunderstorm warning around 2 p.m. warning that a severe thunderstorm was located over southeastern Colorado Springs, moving east at 15 mph. The NWS warned of hail, up to a half-dollar in size was possible.

Both southeastern Colorado Springs and Schriever Space Force Base were included in the warning.

All of El Paso County and much of the southeast quarter of the state, including Douglas, Teller and Pueblo counties, were under a Tornado Watch until 9 p.m. today, but the NWS raised that to a tornado warning as of 3:43 p.m. The NWS heightened warning included the threat of hail "up to softball size likely
