ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WKRG) — A pursuit Thursday afternoon ended in one suspect being hit by a car in Escambia County.

Cody Gaines, 26, was crossing the median on Davis Highway in an attempt to escape arrest from the Escambia County Sheriff's Office.

Gaines has now been arrested on five charges including false imprisonment, battery, resisting an officer, obstructing justice and simple assault.

Around 1 p.m. Thursday, ECSO deputies had located Gaines near an interchange of Davis Highway and I-10. When they attempted to arrest him at a red light, Gaines took off running.
