After winning a historic CIF Central Section championship, the Orcutt Academy softball team will go after a historic regional championship.

No. 2 Orcutt Academy will play at No. 1 Rancho Mirage (21-10) Saturday at 2 p.m. for the CIF Southern California Division 5 Regional championship after rolling to a 10-0 win over No. 4 Oxnard Hueneme in six innings in the regional semis Thursday at Lakeview Junior High School.

Orcutt scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, and the game was called at that point because of the run rule. The Spartans moved to 17-11-1. The Vikings finished 12-15.

The Spartans played to their No. 1 seed in the Central Section playoffs and beat No. 2 Dos Palos 3-0 at Fresno State's Margie Wright Diamond May 29 for the Central Section Division 5 title. Veteran
