GATESVILLE, Texas (KWTX) - The infamous intersection at Highway 36 and Old Osage Road in Gatesville is being looked at for possible changes to improve safety.
It’s a crossing known for chaos where dozens of routine commutes have turned tragic, with dozens of crashes some minor and others fatal happening in just the past ten years.
A recent study done by the city of Gatesville revealed there have been more than 40 crashes at or near the intersection in the past decade. That’s at least 40 reasons why the community has been demanding change for years.
Gatesville City Manager, Brad Hunt says the danger lies in the speed and the set up. “The roads are offset so you have this one road coming at traffic from an acute angle,” he says.
