The St. Augustine boys lacrosse team remains one of the state's premier programs. The Hermits' season-long quest to re-establish itself as a statewide power concluded with a 13-8 NJSIAA Non-Public semifinal loss at Seton Hall Prep.
Two steps shy of their ultimate goal — a state championship — the Hermits' season can only be considered a rousing success. With a 16-4 record and just two losses to instate competition, St. Augustine erased the memory of a challenging 2024 season.
"This was a great group of guys, probably one of the best we've seen in our program," Hermits' junior Ryan Diamond said. "Everyone was completely bought in this year. We could tell it from the jump. It was just all focus. Everyone was just ready and bought in."
