Around 9:09 a.m. on May 13, SPD responded to North 16th Street and North B Street for a report of a man walking through the middle of the roadway while waving a handgun in the air and pointing it at people.
When officers arrived at the scene, they said they found the suspect with what appeared to be a firearm in his pocket. SPD said it gave the suspect multiple commands not to reach for the firearm and to get onto the sidewalk. Subsequently, three officers fired several rounds at the suspect.
