Several agencies responded and one person was injured after pallets and trash caught on fire in Northeast Austin Friday afternoon.
AFD Division Chief Wayne Parrish said that the call came in at around 1:30 p.m. at the Red Rock Recycling location at 9807 Brown Ln.
Nine engines, two rescues, two ladder trucks, and two Battalion Chiefs were on the scene of the fire. A brush truck was also requested to monitor the area in case any additional fires occurred due to embers from the cardboard. Austin-Travis County EMS were also on scene to provide any treatment necessary.
One firefighter was treated on the scene due to a heat-related injury. No one else was injured in the incident.
Due to low water pressure from the first fire hydrant, a second hydrant needed to be accessed in order to have an
