The curtain is up for “Étoile” at Prime Video. Despite receiving a two-season order when first greenlit, the Amazon ballet drama from Amy Sherman-Palladino and Dan Palladino was canceled at the Amazon streamer.

The series, which had originally received a two-year commitment from Amazon but pending an official green light for Season 2, ended on a cliffhanger.

The show was originally ordered when Jennifer Salke was in charge of Amazon MGM, and the change in management — Salke left the company in March and MGM Amazon is now run by Prime Video boss Mike Hopkins — may have played a role.
