SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) — Two small airports and two military facilities in the state will welcome soldiers from the Shelbyville-based 38th Combat Aviation Brigade of the Indiana Army National Guard during Operation Wabash Strike.

The two days of readiness training that starts Tuesday will include air movements, air assaults, aerial reconnaissance, sling load resupply, convoy operations and medical evacuation missions, according to a news release shared Friday from the Indiana National Guard.

Training locations will include Camp Atterbury near Edinburgh, Grissom Air Reserve Base north of Kokomo, the Peru Municipal Airport, and the Fulton County Airport in Rochester.

In March, the aviation soldiers trained with Marines at Camp Atterbury, where they practiced and refined their techniques
